House, Senate Unanimously Approve Legislation with Bipartisan Votes

MONTPELIER – The Vermont Kids Code Coalition issued the following statement applauding last night’s unanimous, bipartisan final passage of the Vermont Kids Code (S.289):

“Our legislators just delivered a critical last-minute win for kids and families in Vermont that offers the promise of healthier childhoods, stronger communities and a safer digital world. When we spoke out about the need to protect Vermont youth online, our legislators listened and they acted. Now, they have achieved a signal victory in the bipartisan fight to defend kids and hold Big Tech companies accountable. We are especially grateful to Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale and Rep. Monique Priestley for their leadership, and we hope that Governor Phil Scott will now proudly sign the Vermont Kids Code into law as a testament to our state’s unwavering commitment to our youngest citizens and their wellbeing in the digital world.”
